Gerunds & Infinitives

Rule 4: be + adjective combinations are commonly followed by infinitives.
Examples:
They were eager to start the test.
He was happy to receive the professors positive comments.
She is lucky to have Barry and Marcos as friends.

Rule 5: There are also many nouns that are commonly followed by infinitives.
Examples:
The proposal to increase taxes was unpopular.
Their request to participate was granted.
His suggestion to leave seemed like a good idea.
